I originally trained in Musical Theatre on a 3 year Diploma course at London Studio Centre. On graduation I embarked on a professional performing career which took me all over the world. My theatre work includes playing the female lead of Belle on a national tour of Beauty and The Beast, Jeannie in Hair at the Peacock Theatre London, Miranda in Return to the Forbidden Planet and Pantomime in Blackburn.
Wishing to venture into other styles of music I spent several years as a resident vocalist in hotels such as The Tulip Hotel, Oman, The Park Hotel Dubai and the Sheraton and Hilton in Abu Dhabi. I also worked on cruise ships for Sun Cruises. I have gigged extensively in the UK including residencies at the Scandic Crown Hotel London. Over the years I have clocked up experience in Function Bands, Tribute Bands, Jazz Duos, Acoustic Duos and devised and performed a one woman show of “Songs From The Shows” at Cabaret Venues.
Moving into teaching I undertook qualifications with London College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and British Theatre Dance Association. Some of my students have had multi album record deals, won national singing competitions, and gone on to professional careers.
Recently I have spent several years teaching in the Further Education sector, preparing students for auditions for the countries leading performing arts colleges. Pupil successes include entry to Guildhall School of Music, Mountview Academy of Performing Arts, Liverpool Institue of Performing Arts, Bird College, London Studio Centre, Stella Mann, Urdang Academy and Laine Theatre Arts.
My teacher and vocal training is ongoing, and I regularaly attend CPD events, lessons, courses and conferences within the industry.
